Why Biothane?

Why Biothane?

Biothane is the material of choice for many professional dog handlers - walkers, trainers, and dog owners. Why? What is the big deal with Biothane?

Biothane is a woven webbing coated in a soft PVC material. Biothane is incredibly lightweight but also strong, with a break strength of between 400 to 3000 pounds depending on the width of the material.

Biothane is also soft and easy to handle. It has a similar feel to leather and maintains its pliability over its lifetime, unlike leather, which can degrade if it’s not cared for.

Biothane is antimicrobial, does not absorb odour, and is resistant to mould and fungus. No more stinky leashes! Biothane is a cinch to clean - just wipe down with a damp towel or, if needed, soak in soapy water and then rinse and wipe down.

Biothane comes in a variety of widths and colours, so you can personalise your equipment based on the type of work you do, your dogs’ size or breed, or just your own personal style.

Bottom line - Biothane is a superior and long lasting leash material. We believe it stands head and shoulders above webbing, rope, leather, and nylon leashes.
