Our collars and leads are made from genuine Biothane® material, which means they're water resistant and easy to clean.

Simply wipe clean with a wet cloth, or for a more thorough cleaning use a little dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge, then rinse with water and leave to dry.

If the gear has been exposed to an exceptionally smelly substance, you can wipe it down with a diluted white vinegar mixture.

While we use steel hardware sealed with solid zinc alloy and protective top coating, it can still corrode after long exposure to the elements. This is natural and unavoidable. After exposure to salt water, mud and sand we strongly recommend rinsing with fresh water after exposure to reduce the changes of your hardware tarnishing.

Do not leave your gear unnecessarily outdoors or in the rain, and avoid using wire brushes or wool pads to clean.

If you notice slight discolouration on your collar or leash, this is likely due to the unavoidable tarnishing of hardware over time and can be almost completely cleaned off with soap and water. If additional cleaning is required it can be further lightened with a mixture of lemon juice and either baking soda or salt - leave on for a couple minutes and then rinse off and dry. Magic Erasers are also very effective in cleaning any marks.
